Things to do in Tirana in one or two days
In one day, cross the centre from New Bazaar and Skanderbeg Square to Bunk’Art 2, the Pyramid and Blloku in the evening. Use day two for the larger Bunk’Art 1 and Dajti. Bovilla is a separate trip.

How much time to give Tirana
The central sights are compact, but Bunk’Art 1 and Dajti sit beyond the walkable core. Do not try to compress all three layers of the city into a few hours.
One full day
The best first-visit balance: New Bazaar, the centre, Bunk’Art 2, the Pyramid and an evening neighbourhood. Almost the entire route is walkable.
Two full days
Add Bunk’Art 1 and Dajti after the central day. You gain time for historical context and a city panorama without rushing.
Rain or intense heat
Move museums into rainy or very hot hours, and keep the square, bazaar and Pyramid for morning or evening. Save Dajti for clear visibility.

The central bunker focuses on the political police and mechanisms of state control. Leave a pause afterwards: the exhibition is dense and emotionally demanding.

Choose Blloku for an urban evening or the Grand Park for a quieter ending. There is no need to force both into the day.

Start with the larger Bunk’Art 1 complex, then continue to Dajti Ekspres. This sequence joins two sights beyond the centre and reserves the panorama for softer afternoon light.

Do not improvise a detour on unfamiliar mountain roads. Return to the city and choose the Grand Park, a quiet neighbourhood or a missed central sight.

The square and civic centre
Monumental scale, museums and the main urban axes. This is where the capital’s structure is easiest to read.
Pazari i Ri
A more intimate rhythm around the market and nearby streets. It works best in the morning as the start of a walking route.
Blloku
Urban evening energy, dense streets and traces of the district’s closed past. Treat it as an atmosphere, not a mandatory venue list.
Grand Park
A quiet finish around greenery and water when Blloku’s energy does not suit your pace.

How to move without needless detours
Walk the centre
New Bazaar, the square, Bunk’Art 2, Murat Toptani and the Pyramid form a logical walking chain. Footwear and sun protection matter more than a car.
Allow extra time beyond the centre
For Bunk’Art 1 and Dajti, allow for public transport or a taxi and extra traffic time. Distance alone is misleading.
A car does not help in the centre
Parking and dense traffic can cost more time than a car saves. If your road trip starts later, collecting the car after seeing the centre is often more practical.
Do not overload the day
Bovilla is not part of the central walk
Lake Bovilla requires a separate outing, a rough final road section and a walk up to the viewpoint. Combining it with the city turns the day into a chain of transfers. Treat Krujë and Petrelë as separate trips too.
